Google opens up Project Fi to new Nexus users

Google is opening up its Profect Fi service in the US for new subscribers for one day, to mark the launch of its new Nexus 5X and 6P smartphones. Announced first in April, Project Fi is a mobile service from Google based around access to free hotspots, with fallback to the mobile network. It was originally available by invite only to users of the first Nexus 6 smartphone in the US. On 20 October, Google is offering free invites to anyone who registers on the project Fi site and has one of the Nexus 5X or 6P devices.
