Google ordered to pay SimpleAir USD 85 mln in patent suit

Google was ordered by a jury in Texas to pay USD 85 million to SimpleAir for using the company's technology for transmitting internet-based data to computers and mobile devices without a licence, Bloomberg reports. SimpleAir, a technology licensing company, had been seeking as much as USD 146 million in the trial. Google said the invention was worth no more than USD 6 million.
