Google "paying 20% tax" in the UK

Google's president of Europe, Middle East and Africa has defended the company's tax arrangements in a parliamentary hearing. "I understand why constituents are concerned when they see reports saying we're paying 3 percent tax, but it's not true," Matt Brittin said, according to Bloomberg. "We're paying 20 percent tax like everyone else." However, he told MPs on the Commons Public Accounts Committee that the new Diverted Profits Tax – or "Google Tax" as it has been dubbed – did not apply to the US tech giant.
