Google preparing hard for launch of Daydream VR service

Wednesday 24 August 2016 | 09:54 CET | News
As it prepares for the introduction of its new Daydream service, Google has been investing heavily in virtual-reality films and programmes and is recruiting YouTube stars to help promote projects from Hulu and fund the production of 360 degree videos, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The push aims to line up exclusive content for Daydream, set to launch in the coming weeks, with promotion coming from web stars like the Dolan twins and Justine Ezarik. Google is also partnering with video-game producers and sports leagues to boost its VR initiative.
