Google releases Android 6.0 'Marshmallow' SDK
Google has released the official Android 6.0 SDK for developers and opened Google Play to testing the first apps based on the latest version of the operating system. Known as Android Marshmallow, the latest OS was first previewed in May

at Goolge I/O. Its new features include support for fingerprint authentication, the 'Doze' power-saving mode and a new system to streamline permissions for app installs and updates. Android Marshmallow is available now in the final developer preview version and is expected to start rolling out to the public later this autumn.

LG starts Marshmallow upgrade for G4 users

Motorola announced it will retire Motorola Migrate and no longer preload it going forward as Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS as Android M also enhances support for backing up user data. Google has unveiled two new smartphones, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, starting at USD 499 and USD 379 respectively, and running the new Android Marshmallow operating system. Google plans press event 29 September

Google has invited journalists to a press conference 29 September. The company is expected to present the latest version of its Nexus smartphone range, including a new Nexus 5 made with LG and a Nexus 6 developed with Huawei. The smartphones are expected to feature the latest version of Android, known as Marshmallow. Google is also thought to be working on a new version of its Chromecast streaming video device. The HDMI dongle reportedly will also support streaming audio.

Google heeft officieel de SDK (software development kit) voor de nieuwe versie van Android vrijgegeven. Het gaat om de Android-versie 6.0 die de naam Marshmallow mee krijgt. De nieuwste versie van het besturingssysteem werd in mei van dit jaar getoond door Google tijdens zijn ontwikkelaarsconferentie Google I/O.
