Google requests Supreme Court ruling in Oracle copyright case

Google confirmed that it has filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to rule on the boundaries of copyright law when it comes to code, the latest development in a long-running dispute with Oracle. The case dates back to 2010, when Oracle, which acquired Java when it took over Sun Microsystems, accused Google of using elements of Java's programming language to build the Android OS.
