Google tests YouTube 'Premium Lite' subscription in Europe

Google is testing a new version of its YouTube subscription in several countries in Europe. The new 'Premium Lite' service offers ad-free viewing without YouTube Premium's other features like offline downloads or background playback. The company confirmed to The Verge that the new option is being tested in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, at a cost of EUR 6.99 per month.
