Google to develop SDN platform with mobile operators

Google announced plans to work with mobile operators such as Bharti Airtel and SK Telecom to build a platform for operators to run their network services. The platform is based on networking technologies developed by Google for its own services. The SDN framework enables networks to adapt to new services and traffic patterns, Google said. It promises fast user space packet processing on commodity hardware to increase the ability to deliver new features quickly while reducing costs.
