Google to end Wallet Card support on 30 June

Google has announced that it will stop supporting Wallet Card, the prepaid debt card linked to Google Wallet accounts, on 30 June. In a blog post addressed to Wallet Card users, the company said it wanted to shift its focus to the Google Wallet app, which it revamped into a peer-to-peer system last September. Wallet Card was launched in November 2013, allowing users to pay via their Wallet balance and a linked MasterCard. However, Android Pay has since become Google's new platform for mobile in-store and in-app purchases, with the company adding in its post that it will be adding new features
