Google to face new EU competition charges soon - report

The European Commission has signalled it is preparing to issue a fresh set of antitrust charges against Google, possibly before August, over its dominance in advertising, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal and Politico. The Commission asked rival companies to permit disclosure to Google of confidential information they submitted to the EU that support allegations that Google abuses its dominance in advertising. The rival companies have a week to submit new versions of the documents, suggesting the EU is nearing the final stages of drafting a statement of objections
