Google to give digital skills training to 10 mln people in Africa

Alphabet's Google is aiming to train 10 million people in Africa in online skills over the next five years, in an effort to make them more employable, reports Reuters citing the firm's CEO Sundar Pichai. At least 40 percent of those trained will be women. Google said it will offer a combination of in-person and online training. Google has said on its blog that it will be carrying out the training in a number of launguages including Swahili, Hausa and Zulu. The company did not provide any financial details about its training programme.
