Google to offer alternative search engines free on Android

Google plans to give Android users in Europe more choice over which search engine they use. As part of its compliance with the EU competition ruling in 2018, the company will make it free for other search providers to appear on the Android choice screen, which prompts users to select a provider when they make a query.
