Thursday 25 January 2018 | 13:35 CET | News
Portugal's prime minister Antonio Costa has revealed that Google plans to set up a new support centre and technology hub for the EMEA region on the outskirts of Lisbon. "Google will be opening the Europe, Middle East and Africa offices in Lisbon this year, hiring up to 500 of Portugal's best-talent engineers," said Costa at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to Reuters. The centre will open in the town of Oeiras on the capital's outskirts, as confirmed by the Oeiras mayor's office, with Google joining a number of technology companies already located in the vicinity, said the report.
