Following complaints it violated online child privacy law COPPA, Google has agreed to pay USD 150-200 million, settling an investigation put in motion by US Federal Trade Commission. Politico reported, citing a source familiar with the matter. A group of 20 child advocacy, privacy and consumer groups filed the complaint last year, asking the FTC to look into the matter. The COPPA law regulates user data collection from sites with users under 13. No further details about the agreement are yet available.
