Google unifies European operations

Google is reorganising its European operations, unifying its two separate arms there, which had been split into geographic groupings. Matt Brittin, who previously led Google's northern and western European arm, will take over the day-to-day running of the new business, with country leaders reporting directly to him. He will be based in London. Carlo D'Asaro Biondo, who has led the company's southern and eastern European operations, will now be responsible for relationships with Google's commercial partners in the region.
