Google warns Huawei ban could compromise US national security - report

Google has warned the Trump administration that a sweeping ban on Huawei could end up compromising US national security, according to unnamed sources cited by the Financial Times. Above all, Google is concerned that a ban on updates to its Android operating system on Huawei smartphones would prompt the Chinese company to develop its own version of the software and that such a hybrid version "could put Huawei phones more at risk of being hacked, not least by China," said one source.
