Government raises the pressure for national mobile roaming

The UK government is expected to launch a consultation this week on legislation that would require mobile operators to introduce network roaming across Britain to allow customers to switch networks when they are somewhere with no signal from their usual provider, the Daily Telegraph reports. Culture Secretary Sajid Javid said he is considering introducing the national roaming legislation to help around 1 million customers in up to 20 percent of the UK where the mobile signal is poor. The move comes after MNOs Vodafone, O2, EE and Three failed to meet a voluntary agreement with ministers on
