GSMA backs Europe position on L, C bands for mobile

The GSMA has largely welcomed the position prepared by Europe for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference in Geneva in October. The mobile industry group supports the decision by the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) at its latest meeting in Norway to expand mobile broadband access to spectrum in the 1,500 MHz and 3.4-3.8 GHz bands. Specifically the CEPT supports identification of L-band spectrum, between 1,427 and 1,518 MHz, for mobile broadband. Europe's backing makes it highly likely that this band will have widespread support at WRC-15,
