GSMA lauds South African frequency harmonisation

GSMA has welcomed South Africa's move to foster digital inclusion and economic growth through mobile phones. following the publication of the government's Final Radio Frequency Spectrum Assignment Plan. Tom Phillips, chief regulatory officer at the GSMA, said the decision to adopt the harmonised spectrum channel plans for the use of the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands, also known as the 'Digital Dividend', for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), is commendable.
