Mobile technologies and services are expected to grow to a value equal to over 4 percent of European GDP by 2022, supported by the launch of 5G services, according to a new report from the industry group GSMA. In 2017, the mobile industry generated 3.3 percent of GDP in Europe, equal to EUR 550 billion of economic value added. The GSMA said Europe needs to implement the right policies to realise the full economic potential of 5G and the growing contribution from the mobile sector.
