GSMA proposes further improvements to EC telecom reforms

The GSMA has published a position paper setting out a series of improvements to the draft Electronic Communications Code unveiled by the European Commission in September. The industry group in general welcomed the EC's efforts to encourage infrastructure investment and urged ministers to commit to the rapid adoption of the regulatory framework reforms but proposed a number of improvements in areas such as spectrum management, which it said should be more consistent and longer term in scope.
