GSMA threatens to move MWC from Barcelona in 2019

The GSMA has reiterated its concern about the future of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in view of recent political uncertainty, reports Catalan daily La Vanguardia, citing GSMA CEO John Hoffman. During a meeting of the board of the Barcelona Mobile World Capital Foundation, the GSMA's chief executive is said to have expressed "concern" and "fear" about the uncertainty arising from the Catalan government's push for independence from Spain. The report adds that the industry body is said to be considering the continuity of the MWC in its current location starting from 2019 in the
