Guinea-Bissau govt announces privatisation of Guine Telecom

The prime minister of Guinea-Bissau, Carlos Gomes Junior, said that the government is working on the relaunch and revaluation of the assets of Guine Telecom in order to privatise the company. Portuguese news agency Lusa reported that Guinean government has received XOF 7 billion from the African Development Bank (ADB) and Ecobank to fund the restructuring of Guine Telecom (wireline) and Guinetel (mobile). The prime minister also said the two companies will form part of a single package to be negotiated with potential investors.
