Half of German internet users victims of cybercrime - Bitkom

Almost 1 in 2 (47%) internet users in Germany have been the victim of cybercrime in the last 12 months, according to a survey conducted for industry group Bitkom. Almost half (45%) of those affected by cybercrime have suffered financially, for example by having to replace hardware or software, or fraudsters conducting illegal transactions. The survey shows that one quarter (26%) of smartphone users have experienced a security incident with their device in the last 12 months.
