Half of schoolchildren see adult content online - survey

Half of schoolchildren admit they have seen sexual, violent and other adult material on social media sites, apps and games, according to a survey conducted as part of the latest update of the Net Aware guide, produced by the NSPCC in partnership with O2. Over three quarters (78%) of children said they joined social media sites before reaching the minimum age of 13. The Net Aware guide is now available, for the first time, as a free mobile app. It provides parents with a guide to 50 of the most popular social media sites, apps, and games, that young people use.
