Hamburg data protection body tells city chancellery to avoid using Zoom

The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI) has officially warned the Senate Chancellery of the city against using the on-demand version of the Zoom video conference service. HmbBfDI says the service violates the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as its use is associated with the transmission of personal data to the US, where data protection is insufficient.
