HbbTV Forum NL says HbbTV hampered by cable operators

The introduction of the HbbTV interactive TV standard (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) is being delayed in the Netherlands because cable operators Ziggo and UPC have still not to have committed, HbbTV Forum Netherlands project leader Frank Visser told Digitale Kabeltelevisie. The forum hoped to establish HbbTV in the Netherlands in 2012 but has not managed to succeed on a large scale. HbbTV is in use in several European countries, and will soon be introduced in Russia, Poland, Scandinavia, France, Germany, and in Switzerland with UPC.
