HBO Max, Peacock put on strong show in Q3, but appeal to different demographics - Ampere

Both HBO Max, which launched at the end of May, and NBCUniversal's Peacock, which followed in July, attracted a strong number of subscribers, despite lockdown rules delaying some of the content each SVoD service had planned, according to the latest study from Ampere, carried out in August/September. At the end of the third quarter, 8 percent of US Internet households had active subscriptions to HBO Max, while 7 percent were using Peacock. But Ampere noted that despite the similar headline uptake figures, the two services appeal to different audiences.
