HBO Max secures Champions League rights in Mexico

After announcing a 29 June launch date for HBO Max in Mexico, owner WarnerMedia confirmed that the streaming platform will be the exclusive home of UEFA Champions League football from 2021-22. The deal means Disney's ESPN and Fox Sports channels will no longer show Champions League matches, with business daily Expansion reporting that WarnerMedia has plans to launched its TNT Sports channel in Mexico. The channel is already available in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
