HBO Now reaches 2 mln subscribers in US

Thursday 9 February 2017 | 10:52 CET | News
HBO's stand-alone streaming service has surpassed 2 million subscribers in the US, Variety reports. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes gave the number on a conference call with analysts on the company's quarterly results and said the group is "really pleased with the progress" of HBO Now. The service first launched in April 2015 and has since expanded to a number of countries around the world. Time Warner last said HBO Now had around 800,000 subscribers in the US at the end of 2015.
