Heeze-Leende may face bailout of HSLnet fibre network

Wednesday 2 March 2016 | 16:12 CET | News
HSLnet, the owner and manager of the fibre network in the municipality of Heeze-Leende, is suffering from financial problems. If the cooperative goes under, it could cost the city almost EUR 4.5 million, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad. Heeze-Leende is seeking advice about the future of HSLnet, including attracting new financing or selling the network. It's already contributing EUR 200,000 to ensure service to customers continues. The cooperative has around 26,000 subscribers on the network, taking services from providers such as TriNed, Plinq and CanalDigitaal.
