Hondurans spend 10% of income on mobile data - study

Honduran consumers use up nearly 10 percent of their average monthly income on 1GB of mobile data, according to a study from the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) cited by local daily La Prensa. The study places Honduras 15th in a ranking of 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries, ahead of Nicaragua, with Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica and Jamaica the only countries with affordable internet, said the A4AI. The countries with the highest mobile data prices were Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua and Honduras.
