Huawei has announced the first product running its new Harmony OS, a smart TV under its Honor brand. The Honor Vision TV is expected to act as an entertainment and information hub for households and includes access to video streaming services such as Tencent Video and MGTV and the HiLink smart home system.
The 55-inch connected TV is priced from CNY 3,799 (USD 538) and will launch on 15 August in China. It supports 4K and dual-band Wi-Fi, as well as HDR imaging, noise reduction, dynamic contrast improvement and local dimming. The Huawei Magic Link function allows users to control the TV from their smartphone or tablet and cast images from the phone to the TV.
In addition to the new OS, the TV runs three chipsets from Huawei: the Honghu 818 Intelligent Display Chipset, the AI Camera NPU chipset and the flagship Wi-Fi chipset. The 'smart screen' also comes in a 'Pro' version equipped with a pop-up AI-enabled camera for making video calls. The advanced model is priced at CNY 4,799.
