Huawei to pay South African developers to build apps for HarmonyOS

Huawei said that it will pay software developers to build applications for its new operating system, HarmonyOS, TechCentral reported. It may use HarmonyOS to power its future smartphones if it loses access to Google's Android. Huawei said it has earmarked USD 1 billion to pay developers to build apps for the new software, but it has not set aside a specific percentage of this figure for individual markets around the world.
