Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced a partnership with Intel to deliver open standards-based Internet of Things (IoT) products that it says will help companies create value from the growing amount of data collected from devices and sensors. The two companies will also set up three global IoT solutions labs in Houston, Grenoble and Singapore to help business customers accelerate the deployment of IoT applications. As part of their collaboration, HPE will build systems based on processors from Intel's Core i5 and Atom families. These purpose-built IoT products will sit outside of the traditional data centre, said HPE, collecting, processing and analysing data from sensors and devices.
In addition, HPE will introduce new reference architectures to provide customers with a proven template for delivering IoT products. The company said it would be unveiling more information regarding its IoT strategy at next month’s HPE Discover event in London.
