Tuesday 10 March 2015 | 09:17 CET | News
Intel has introduced a new range of system-on-chip (SoC) server processors intended for blade and high-density server systems. The Xeon D processors are built on Intel's 14-nanometer process technology which, according to the company, addresses the growing need for low-power, ultra dense infrastructure solutions. The first two SoCs in the Xeon D family are the quad-core Xeon Processor D-1520, costing USD 199, which comes with a 6MB cache and a 2.2GHz/2.6GHz turbo clock, and the eight-core Xeon Processor D-1540, costing USD 581, which features a 12MB cache and a 2GHz base/2.6GHz turbo clock.
