HP shows off new hardware, acquisition plans

HP showed off new hardware at its annual customer conference this week, as part of its plans to build a 21st century supercomputer, and unveiled future acquisition plans, the Wall Street Journal reported. The device, called the Machine, uses a new form of memory called a memristor, wired using ultrafast photonic fibres instead of conventional copper wires.CEO Meg Whitman said the company was back in potential acquisition mode after the disastrous USD 11 billion tie-up with Autonomy, which the company is now suing for fraud.
