HP to merge PC and printer activities

HP announced plans to merge its PC and printer divisions. HP's Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) and Personal Systems Group (PSG) will merge to form the Printing and Personal Systems Group, headed by Todd Bradley, who has served as the executive vice president of PSG since 2005. Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of IPG, is retiring after a 31-year career at HP. HP said the combination of the two units will lead to lower costs, as it integrates its go-to-market strategy, branding, supply chain and customer support for the two divisions worldwide. HP earlier considered selling the PC
