HTC expands Desire range with Pro, Lifestyle models
HTC has unveiled two new smartphones in its Desire range, the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro. 

The Lifestyle is a mid-range phone that will launch this month for a recommended price of EUR 349/GBP 249. The Android 6.0 smartphone features a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution, 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor from Qualcomm, 2 GB or 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. It comes with a 13 megapixel camera on the rear and 5-megapixel front camera. 

The Pro will launch in November and comes with a more powerful octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, with a choice of 3GB or 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage. It features also a 5.5-inch screen, with 1080p resolution. The back camera offers 20 megapixels and the front 13 megapixels, and a fingerprint sensor is also included on the back. With a matte body with metallic lines around the edge, the phone will be available in black, white, navy blue and light blue. Both phones come with 24-bit high-resolution audio.

HTC narrows losses in Q3 as sales recover

HTC reported improving margins and smaller losses in the third quarter, thanks to growing momentum for its VR products and cost reductions. The operating loss more than halved to TWD 2.0 billion, compared to a loss of TWD 4.9 billion a year ago and TWD 4.2 billion in Q2. The net loss reduced to TWD 1.8 billion from TWD 4.5 billion. HTC returns to sales growth in Q3

HTC reported its first annual growth in sales this year in September, with revenues up 31.4 percent to TWD 9.33 billion. Revenues also improved strongly from the previous month, growing 41.8 percent compared to August. As a result of the strong performance in September, total third-quarter sales at the smartphone market were up 3.9 percent year-on-year to TWD 22.2 billion. HTC will release full third-quarter results at a later date.
