HTC returns to sales growth in Q3
HTC reported its first annual growth in sales this year in September, with revenues up 31.4 percent to TWD 9.33 billion. Revenues also improved strongly from the previous month, growing 41.8 percent compared to August. As a result of the strong performance in September, total third-quarter sales at the smartphone market were up 3.9 percent year-on-year to TWD 22.2 billion. HTC will release full third-quarter results at a later date.

HTC narrows losses in Q3 as sales recover

HTC reported improving margins and smaller losses in the third quarter, thanks to growing momentum for its VR products and cost reductions. The operating loss more than halved to TWD 2.0 billion, compared to a loss of TWD 4.9 billion a year ago and TWD 4.2 billion in Q2. The net loss reduced to TWD 1.8 billion from TWD 4.5 billion. HTC earlier reported that sales rose slightly, to TWD 22.2 billion, the second quarter of sequential growth and an annual increase from TWD 21.4 billion a year ago.

HTC announced the launch of a new storefront for virtual reality content, called Viveport. HTC expands Desire range with Pro, Lifestyle models

HTC has unveiled two new smartphones in its Desire range, the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro. The Lifestyle offers a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution and a Snapdragon 400 processor, while the Pro offers a full HD screen with MediaTek Helio P10 processor, plus a fingerprint sensor and better cameras. HTC introduces mid-range One A9s smartphone at Ifa

HTC has unveiled a new smartphone in its One range at the Ifa show in Berlin, the mid-range A9s. The 5.0-inch Android phone will launch in November for a recommended price of EUR 349. HTC sales stable in July

HTC saw its sales trend improve further in July, with sales down only 14.7 percent year-on-year. Compared to June, sales fell only 0.6 percent to TWD 6.32 billion. In the year to date, HTC's sales are down 51.2 percent to TWD 40.0 billion. In its recent Q2 report, HTC said it was seeing a turnaround in sales, helped by the launch of its flagship HTC 10 smartphone and HTC Vive virtual reality headset.
