HTC forecasts steady improvement in Q2 sales

HTC forecast a sequential improvement in second-quarter sales to TWD 46-51 billion, from the TWD 41.5 billion reported in Q1. Sales will still be down on the TWD 65.1 billion achieved in Q2 2014. The smartphone maker estimates its gross margin at 23-23.5 percent in Q2, a recovery after two quarters of decline and a result of 19.7 percent in Q1. Earnings are forecast at TWD 0.06-0.34 per share in the second quarter, versus TWD 0.43 in Q1. HTC confirmed its preliminary first-quarter results, with revenues up 25 percent year-on-year.
