HTC grows Q4 revenues 153% to TWD 104 bln
HTC announced revenues of TWD 104.0 billion for the fourth quarter, up 153.3 percent from a year earlier. The result beat the company's forecast for TWD 100 billion in sales. Revenues in December alone were up 134.4 percent to TWD 33.1 billion, and for the full-year 2010, HTC grew sales 92.9 percent to TWD 278.8 billion. Fourth-quarter operating profit rose to TWD 16.8 billion, from TWD 6.3 billion a year ago, and net profit improved to TWD 14.6 billion from TWD 5.5 billion. HTC will give a presentation on its fourth-quarter and 2010 results on 21 January.

HTC targets handset shipments of 9 million in the fourth quarter, up 157 percent from the year-earlier period. In Q3, the company shipped 6.8 million mobile phones, up from 2.8 million a year earlier and 5.4 million in Q2. The average selling price was USD 342, up from USD 340 in Q2 but down from USD 348 a year ago. HTC September sales up 130% year-on-year

HTC announced revenues for the month of September of TWD 27.06 billion, up 130 percent from the year earlier. The smartphone marker said September sales only saw a small portion of shipments for its new products and it expects a bigger impact from new launches in October.
