HTC launches shared Android computing initiative

Smartphone maker HTC introduced "HTC Power To Give", an initiative that aims harness the collective processing power of Android smartphones for research purposes. Currently in beta, HTC Power To Give allows smartphone owners to donate their unused processing power shorten the research cycles for organisations that would otherwise have to spend years analysing the same volume of data. One of the programmes available at launch is IBM's World Community Grid.
