HTC Q3 profit sinks 79% as revenues fall to TWD 70 bln
HTC reported a record profit decline in the third quarter amid competition from Samsung and Apple, Bloomberg reported. The company had warned in August that profits would continue falling. Revenue in Q3 slid 48 percent to TWD 70.2 billion, at the lower end of the company's forecast of TWD 70-80 billion. The net profit sank to TWD 3.9 billion, down 79 percent from the year before.

HTC heeft zijn winst in het derde kwartaal van dit jaar zien dalen met 79 procent naar 3,9 miljard Taiwanese dollar (TWD), omgerekend 133 miljoen dollar. Op jaarbasis halveerde de omzet bijna naar ruim 70 miljard TWD. HTC liet bij de bekendmaking van zijn financiële resultaten over Q3 2012 in het midden hoeveel mobiele apparaten het heeft verkocht in het kwartaal.
