HTC to cut 15% of workforce, targets 35% lower costs

HTC announced plans for a major restructuring, including cutting 15 percent of its global workforce. Falling the recent sharp slide in its sales, the company said it aims to reduce operating costs by 35 percent. The restructuring includes the establishment of new business units in order to focus more on profitable growth in the key areas of premium smartphones, virtual reality, and connected lifestyle products.
