French mobile network operators relying on Huawei supplies have been told that the authorisations recently issued on the use of 5G equipment will expire by 2028 with no renewal option, reports Reuters citing three unnamed sources. The authorisations have been granted under the new procurement regime put in place by the government at the end of 2019. These latest revelations follow the information released by French security agency executive Poupard earlier this month, who said that operators already using Huawei were set to receive permits for a duration of up to eight years.
