Huawei adds support for unlicensed bands to LTE platform

Huawei announced its Unlicensed LTE (U-LTE) platform at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. U-LTE aggregates licensed and unlicensed spectrum bands to boost capacity. Huawei expects unlicensed spectrum bands, such as 5GHz, will play an increasingly important role in mobile business models due to the increasing scarcity of licensed bands and the need for continued growth in network capacity.
