Huawei adopts OT's eSIM for Huawei Watch 2

Wednesday 5 April 2017 | 13:46 CET | News
Huawei has selected Oberthur Technologies' DakOTa v4.0 embedded SIM (eSIM) for its newly launched Huawei Watch 2. Leveraging the OT eSIM, Huawei Watch 2 users will be able to remotely download MNO subscriptions for their watch. These subscriptions are securely stored on interoperable subscription managers such as OT's. Once their mobile subscription is activated on the watch, users will be able to call, use data services and receive notifications, even if their smartphone is switched off or out of reach.
