Huawei aims to nearly double smartphone sales this year

Huawei aims to generate USD 9 billion of revenues in mobiles and to sell over 60 million smartphones this year, compared to USD 7.5 billion of mobile revenues and the sale of 32 million smartphones in 2012, Richard Yu, managing director of Huawei Consumer Business Group told French newspaper Les Echos. He said the company seeks to eventually become the world's biggest smartphone vendor, but in the meantime it hopes to become the third biggest brand in terms of consumer awareness and loyalty within 3 years.
