Huawei Australia calls on govt to change procurement rules

Huawei Australia says that the ban on supplying equipment for the National Broadband Network (NBN) will not improve the security of the network. The company was banned from participating in the NBN in 2011 due to concerns over cyber attacks originating in China. The company's cyber security officer, John Suffolk, said that the government should be more transparent about cyber attacks that threaten the country and urged the government to change equipment procurement rules.
